need help (and can't get it from Sierra FAq)!!!
in N2 can I save a race part way through it???? In N1 this was
straight forward - can't figure it out for N2 - seems like you have to
finish a race once it is started or it is not recorded?

There was no "save game" feature in the original version of N2.
However, Papyrus did add it to the patches for the sim. Get the latest
patch.

Yes, the original release of Nascar2 did not have the save game feature in
it. You can download the patch from Sierra's website, it includes the save
game feature. The GNS expansion pack also includes this patch.

In the patched ver.103 of n2 when you leave track you are asked if you want
to save race.If you dont have bgn exp. pack, youll have to install patches
from sierra[also on the pits page,www.theuspits.com].
