Geforce Overclocking ?

by John McClare » Thu, 15 Feb 2001 12:31:45

I just purchased a Leadtek Geforce 32 MB GTS. I am wondering how high have
you guys overclocked it? Also what drivers seem to have the best performace?
I am currently running the 4.47's. Also what tweaks do I need to do to get
the most out of this card for NASCAR4?

Finally what kind of framerates in NASCAR4 are you celery owners getting
with the the GTS?

Thanks,
John

These folks are pretty good. The utility gained me about 10fps just by
setting it to 'fast'.

rrevved,

Do you get any artifacting or other glitches in GPL with those drivers?  I
resisted switching to the Detonator 3 drivers because all the nVIDEA
versions and the Asus versions caused this problem for GPL...but just in the
menus.

I caved the other day to test the difference in N4 (+ 3-10 fps), but of
course get the problem in GPL.  I got a little bit of the problem even in
N4, but it has an option to use a "software" cursor, which cleared it up
completely.  Since we don't have that option in GPL, I am wondering what
others are doing.  Is there an adjustment somewhere that can cure these
graphical glitches?

Thanks,

Marc.

I have been playing GPL for a while at 1280x1024...it is awesome.  I was
stupid enough to buy the Asus GeForce2 GTS when it first came out ($$ and
crappy support).  The latest official Asus drivers are 5.33a!!!  I guess
I'll try the latest nVIDEA drivers and see if the GPL menu problem is fixed.

Marc.

I run v6.50 reference drivers with DX8a and GPL is absolutely problem-free
with default core.ini settings. 1280x1024 with 4x FSAA 36fps in practise.
Beautiful! :)
The board is Asus V7700 GTS 32MB.
