I had the same problem, but it happened for me when I downloaded the beta
installer from PWF.  I erased it just by deleting the directory and I
installed the tptcc version from the pits.  After that, everything worked
fine.  If you are getting the correct one from the pits and it still isn't
working, I am not sure what to tell ya.  Here is the name of the file I
downloaded that worked properly:

TPTCC2003_v2.1.exe

Look at the bottom of the main menu screen.  You will see two left/right
arrows and Something that says NascarCup.  Click on either arrow until
you see tptcc2.0b   THat is the newest version.  If you dload individual
cars, then you put them in the nr2k3\series\tptcc2\cars\ folder.

The pwf version still uses your old Cup-shaped cars.  The new shapes have
not yet been released, that I know of yet anyway.  Both versions, tptcc and
pwf use the road racing physics released by Papyrus.  Before you install
either version, you need to make sure the official 1.201 patch from papyrus
is installed.

PWF has said that they will not release the Mod they are doing until its
complete with the damage model and all, which means it could be a little
while longer before we see that.

Where did you get the 2.0b version, Dave? At the US Pits site, they
still list 2.1 as the most recent release of TPTCC. Or was that just
a typo?

That is v2.1.   I guess the menu artist has a different way of describing
the same thing.   When you install 2.1 you will see 2.0b on the menu.
No difference.

It probably makes no difference, but my menu says "TPTCC v2.1". You
aren't running the short-lived 2.0 update, are you? (I'm not even
sure it was publicly released.)

Not that I want to drag this out or appear to be ***retentive.

hmmmm   could be.   I have been able to sucessfully connect with the
2.1 tptcc league server.  Guess I'd better have a look at that.
