Scott,    I agree completely but you left out one little detail. The absolute best
consumer grade video card for N2 is the Hercules Thriller 3d 8meg _AGP_ card. I
just couldn't resist.
    All the best, Mike

Well, since currently N2 is Rendition only (god only knows about the
3dfx patch)... I would say the new Hercules Thriller 3D with 8mb of
sdram.  That card should make N2 fly!!  Assuming no driver conflicts etc
that was the case with Stealth II running under DOS (which is fixed now
I believe).  If I were going to spend $250.00 or so right now (which I
may be doing soon)..  The Hercules Thriller 3D is the one.  If price IS
a consideration... the Stealth II is a great card in regards to bang for
the buck!!

Keep in mind the AGP card uses 1x Local Texturing (the same as DMA on a
PCI card) so the only speed increase will come from the faster bus.
You'll likely not see much of a difference in real world applications.

Does that mean that the combination of Diamond Monster and the
Stealth II would be the best 'bang-for-buck' combo for all the current
racing sims?

Yeah, but I'd spend a bit more in the basic Thriller3D 4MB (under
$130US) and then wait until March when the Voodoo2 boards will be
released.
