Suzuka!

Hi all.

Apparently no one noticed that a "pre-beta" version of Suzuka for GPL
is available at the French Pits...

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

I haven't tried it yet, so I don't know what it's worth.

For you it may not, but for me it works just fine.  As for
the track, it is just the track surrounded by guard rails at
this point.  Everything else is still to come.

They can, but shouldn't as they are violating copyrights. They simply
don't care...

It does work but you need to install it manually and add the appropriate
lines to the ini files.

However, It's hardly worth the bother. This is an incomplete beta track. It
came from one of the foremost track developers amongst us who, as I
understand things decided to shelve the project. As the original poster
implied. It's simply a beta release and a leaked one to boot.

Around the time that Dave Noonan was releasing his track converter, this
French Pits place is the site that had all those sub-standard versions of
places like Laguna Seca with ***graphics and invisible walls if I'm not
mistaken.

Suzuka!

by David Noona » Sat, 15 Jul 2000 04:00:00

This is one of my early versions of suzuka. I have given no permission for this track
to be posted but the site concerned, and seemingly their ISP, couldn't care less about
copyrights.

I have a much newer and better version of Suzuka but it's been rendered pointless by
this posting - I presume that was the intention.

Regards

Dave Noonan

Dave, There is nothing pointless about your tracks...let the idiots have
their day, the rest of us are more than happy to wait for the finished
product.

And thanks again for Imola, I LOVE IT!

Don't let the bastards grind you down Dave!
Make no mistake, your tracks are well worth the wait, and this blatant
infringement of copyright will make no difference whatsoever to our great
appreciation of them.

Here's hoping you continue to work on it!
Cheers,

Dave,

I for one would like to see the finished Suzuka some day, and I'm sure I'm not the only
one! I hope you won't punish all of us because of a few losers.

Many thanks for all that you've added to GPL.

I might add to this by saying that a release of the finished track gets
the ultimate revenge on this site.  It renders that site & it's tracks
pointless by way of superior offerings.  Without a release, they offer
something that cannot be had elsewhere.  Don't give them the upper hand
and the last say!

And a big Thank You to Dave, for everything you have done.

Dave, I hope you reconsider your decision to pull the plug this one.

As I stated earlier on, this site was the one that posted the hacked
versions of the US tracks. I'm sure once the finished article appears no one
will even think about the beta.

I suggest we collectively bouycott this site. I don't believe how people
could submit hotlaps to a creep like this.
