Dammit Sean, you got me now ;-P

You just should had seen the situation up in the room.  Right after the
wreck I immediately shut down the PC and took my shoes to get the heck out
of the room as fast as I could.  People were still spinning, and I could
hear guys yelling "f*cking *** Frank" over their headphones ;-)    <G>

Joysticks do come in analog form as well Kris.... you sure you're not
talking about a gamepad?

Just to be sure.... we are talking about the PC version of CMR2, right?
Because if you're talking Playstation I'm not sure you can have analog
inputs at all, regardless of whether you use a pad, a joystick or a
wheel/pedal combination (any Playstation owners who could clear this up?).

Anyhow, a PC joystick or wheel/pedal combination will provide analog input,
so if you turn a little, the car in the game will turn a little. In that
sense it is certainly worth your while to use an analog controller for CMR2
as they are much more intuititve to use. I couldn't imagine myself using
keys or a gamepad for this game.

That only applies with digital joysticks, like we used to have on the C64
and Amiga.  You can't even get digital joysticks anymore, they are all
analogue, and they can control a car in roughly the same way as a wheel,
with progressive steering.  A joystick will not be as precise as a wheel
though, because the range of value is spread over a much small angle of
movement.

When it comes to guts... I don't have enough to tell my wife I'm not going
to a get together she planned for the holiday weekend so I can go to a LAN
event.  =)

Someday when you have a wife...   wait a minute,  never mind!   LOLOL  ;)

Well, I played CMR1, Rally Masters, and Rally Championship 2000 with
joystick... (and NFS:HS, NFS:PU, and Driver...) and it can be done, but
you probably won't get the best performance with it.
