N4 Watkins Glen : HOW do you drive here ??

by DAVID J ROBINSO » Wed, 05 Sep 2001 05:45:38

Thom,  I have know guy for three years.  He is a great guy, and I consider
him a friend of mine.  It is kinda funny what a difference time makes. I
remember when GPL came out and getting with him and some other online
buddies and working on getting control of GPL cars.  Well its been three
years and I have been in and out of playing GPL and other games a lot.  Well
seeing Guy run GPL and racing him in N4 has actaully been fun, and as I
mentioned a bit of an education.  I really worked with Guy to help him get a
handle on the GPL cars,  we had a blast.  Now he is educating me on getting
down and pushing an N4 car hard and not leaving the track.

So I can say its dusgusting how fast Guy has become in both GPL and N4.  Why
well a while back I was working on setups for him and well now I am trying
to come to grips with having him pass me in places that are flat
embarassing.

And Guy, I am still working on setups for Sears and Watkins, I am getting
closer so watch out this old dog may still be able to hunt.

Well I have my moments T-Man.lol but I guess I'm just average?
I enjoy many of the great racers' online and I have left many out!
The three that got me really started learning about online sims, is
Alison Hines, Graeme Nash & Tim Wheatley. They spent hours
online just helping with their expertize & I thank them! There are
many others that would take forever' to mention & I thank them
too! To me most all sim racers I have raced online are good, its
just the few that ruin it for many but I opt to 'negate' comments
here.. :) Cheers -Thom_j.

| Thom:  with accolades like that, i would be honoured to have my friends
give
| me credit like that.  Bet you're no slouch either.  I will definitely
check
| out the WON site, have not done that since going to N4 from N3.  Actually,
| did not realize that WON had an N4 server going.
|
| I know what you mean though about fellow enthusiats who are willing to
help.
| If I can plug some guys I know, it would be David "Kessman" Kesterson,
Gene
| "Geneman" Casey, and the other originators of Torn8oAlley.com .  These
guys
| are awesome.  Anytime you want to stop by our server for some pick up
races,
| please do so.  Check out our site anytime, www.torn8oalley.com.

Thom,

Well there was Guy Wilson, David Price, and a couple other guys who would
show up Friday night( Saturday for David Price since he was in the land of
OZ), and we would run laps and race till the cows came home.  I really
enjoyed racing with them.  I like running with Guy even now tho I am not
able to present any competition for him.  I am working on that tho.  Its
tough in N4 right now for me since I am slower then Guy and George, but
still ahead of a lot of guys on the road courses.

My nic at sierra.com is Robinsonracing so if you see me gimme a hollar.

Btu David,
"O" ok.. I raced & still race mostly during the day via Eastern US time.
I do race after midnight alot lately via N4 as I rarely sleep anymore! Its
something that I acquired recently.. So since it seems I cant shake it, I
race.. :)
btw: I hope you dont think I'm even close to Guy or the others! I just
love racing online & GuyW has a good connect. He usually waves as
he laps me.. hahaha

to work okay is to put the throttle on the joystick vertical axis and

YOU ARE IMAGINATIVE !!

I have tried that before but
I rather buy a wheel and pedal.......
