SCGT -- Can't Set Controls

by The Black C » Sat, 15 May 1999 04:00:00

I just got my copy of SCGT today and immediately began having problems
with the controls...  I was able to get it working for a while by
plugging the controller into the sound card, but when I did that, N99
and GPL didn't work.

So I loaded the drivers for my Thrustmaster ACM gamecard, now N99 and
GPL work perfectly, and SCGT reads the card, but the throttle and
brake are reversed in the default settings and when I try to change
them, whatever I try to change is set to X axis - (minus).  I made
sure that the the wheel was properly calibrated using the software
that came the the ACM and in W98.  I noticed that SCGT is supposed to
have an I/O of 0201-0201 while the ACM is supposed to be 0201-0201,
0209-0209.  I tried both settings and it didn't affect the problem.

The buttons are fine.  The steering is fine, but obviously it won't
work to have the brake and throttle reversed...  :(

The wheel I use is a TSW2 with a Formula wheel upgrade (buttons and
paddle shifters).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  TIA...

>Turn off split-axis.

I don't have that feature on my wheel.  X is steering, Y is
throttle/brake...

Or is there a setting in the game that you're talkikng about.

>Have you disabled your soundcard's
>gameport in control panel / system / dev mgr.? You will have to do
>that in order to use the ACM card.

I don't know how to do that...  Should I check the box labelled
"Disable in this hardware profile"?  Would that shut off the card for
everything or just the joystick port?

Sorry to be a nuisance about this but I've never had problems with my
controllers before and this is new territory for me...
