...or both...or is the way better FFB a function of the physics?  I can't
believe how much "better" it feels compared to N4 on my system.

My guess is its the more detailed tire model, Marc......

To be honest, I don't notice any difference in FF effect, it seems the same
to me, i.e. weak. I'm using a MOMO Force.

FF seems a lot stronger to me then N4 I'm using a LWFF old red wheel one.

For me the FF and the steering response feels slower than in N4, and it
is more spiky on the road tracks than before.  The physics feel better
on the ovals, but I can't tell the difference at the road tracks.

That's weird Jeff, Momo here too and the FF is definately better and
stronger than in N4. Have you set the FF strength in N2002 to 100%?
(ok that was quite obvious but maybe you forgot).
In windows itself I have the strength to 100%.

No spikes at all here.. play with the damping and latency slider a
bit, maybe that helps getting rid of the spikes.
And about the slow response, have you set the wheel to linear (move
the bar to the right) in the calib screen? A setting of 90 seems to
work best for me.

I have my Momo set to 120% in windows, and 100% in the game, feels good.

I have it set to 100% in the game, and 100% in Windows. I'll try Don
suggestion of setting it to 120% in Windows.

100% in windows is more than enough for me.. I think I need to work
out some more :-/

BTW: with the old LWFF, the ff was -much- stronger when I set it on
ID1 in windows controller settings instead of ID2.
I don't know if it's the same with the Momo (or any ff wheel for that
matter) but if you have the Momo on ID2, try setting it on ID1.

settings :).

I tried 120% yesterday, but (as is the case with GPL) the ff becomes
worse when you set it above 100%. With 100% I have no spiking, with
120% I have quite some spiking.
Pretty cool though when you're in a crash and the wheel jumps allmost
out of your hands :)
