Anyone Watch Cart on ESPN?

Fwiw,
I have been watching the Cart Molson Indy Toronto on ESPN &
it looks more like a PapyLoop N4 Demo Derby then a Cart race!
Really odd and I never thought I would see so many accidents via
Cart in one race.. phew..

You should have seen them a few weeks ago, they went 45 laps without a full
green lap.

True... not able to stitch 10 clean laps together it seems. Too many young
guns nowadays, I think. Not enough patience.

Trying times for the TV motorsport viewer today. First Trulli ends the F1 WC
in the 1st turn of the GP and now this.

I missed that one as I was racing online and the way it sounds
I'm glad I did!! I just love watching fast-tight clean racing but
accidents just mess up a good race..phew..

What I couldn't figure out was exactly when did Andretti get ahead?  He
was in 13th, I went to the bathroom, and then he was in first.
Attrition, or really good driving?  What did I miss?

Real burst of speed by Andretti then two retirements put him first.

He didn't need to pit. After the leaders pitted he was in second and the
leader pitted. .

He was alongside DC all the way up the pit straight, and on the inside of
copse. DC should have let him have a bit more room. It was his choice, turn
in on Trulli and end his championship there and then, or give him space and
be on the inside into the maggots/becketts complex, probably regaining the
position. And even if he went down a place, there was still 59 laps and 16
corners to challenge for the race, especially with Hakkinen up front (who
would let him through).

I am a brit who likes DC, but sometimes you gotta face the facts - he threw
the race and the championship away because he thought the race was won or
lost at the first corner.

looking at the server replay, it seems trulli had a little bit of warp on
there and jinked a little to the side.  At the time being in DC's blind
spot- a drivers view confirms that "look right" would not have shown
trulli's car.  As a T1 incident, DC should have known better though, how
many times do we have to watch these T1 incidents before drivers realise
they should get in line and get the first lap over with before racing?

Trulli parked up and disconnected, while DC was able to continue with damage
for another couple of laps before disconnecting in a huff about being at the
blunt end of the field for the next 60 odd laps and not being able to "race
with the fast guys".

"That's the last time I play in a PRO damage race" DC was later heard
telling anyone who'd listen in VROC.

:o)

cheers
John

LOL.

No sign of an "NP" after Trulli's "S" either :-)

Did you also see Fittipaldi kill a seagull?     About 20 laps from
the end there is a restart after one of the many incidents.  Even
during this restart Memo Gidley hits the wall, but as the leaders
go around turn 2, a seagull doesnt quite get out of the way in
time.
