Is there any chance of editing the car files to increase the wieght?

That would be nice, or the forthcoming patch that is being discussed in
another trend, I WANT to like this game, but the weightless car and
sticky grass is putting me off at the moment....

yup thats what im saying ... the cars have weight ... go into a 5 corner and
throw it sideways ... the car will slide to a halt. Im not sure how heavy it
should feel but it doenst feel too bad.

the cars def do float at high speeds ... but in a realistic way.

the game isnt perfect ... but it feels pretty good

Actually after playing the game, I don't find the cars that light.
They are much better than in the demo, as is the driving/physics
model. The grass isn't THAT bad - it's sticky in some narrow roads
(where maybe it represents weeds, not shown that well graphically?)
but in other places you can use it (i.e., on square-turns onto other
roads, the fastest way is definitely through the grass).

Anyway, I think people are giving David WAY too much grief over this
game. What he said was that it's a great sim, and that the driving
model/physics is much better in the final game than the demo. And he's
absolutely right.

Indeed Joe. Funny to read that some people are allready changing their
opinions about rc2000 after spending some more time with it.
Maybe it's a psychological thing, one person starts to complain about
the 'hit a tree and drive on' problem, and immediately 200 other
people have same problem, forgetting what a superb sim/arcade game
(whatever) rc2000 is.
I like it far better than Viper Racing. I don't care if it's a sim or
arcade game, it feels realistic to me, it just plays beautiful, and
that's all that counts for me.

Well, I still think the car is almost weightless, although the handling
bit is pretty good, I've manged to get some decent 4-wheel drifts on
tarmac, but the grass is WAY off in my opinion, on a tarmac stage, 100
mph, full throttle, put 2 wheels on the grass and your car starts
slowing down like you were on the brakes, not right, I also noticed
another thing last night (told you I tried to like this game :-), I was
in 4th gear on a tarmac stage in the Seat Cupra, doing around 100 mph I
think, and started on a not too steep uphill, and the car stopped
accelerating, I mean, these cars have 260+ HP and very low gearing and
should hardly notice those at all

That depends doesn't it, David has made some pretty bold statements
about this sim, and as such I believe some of it is warranted as I can't
really see this as the "groundbraking rally sim with at least as good
physics as GPL" that I believe he claimed at some point, although I must
say that I'm looking forward to the patch so I can try it some more
without getting motion sickness from the frame rate, like I said, I
really want to like this game/sim, but a bad sim (as I thought initially
myself), no, THAT it ain't

According to Kenneth and David, yes, addressing some poor FPS
performance with the V3 and 2 other cards, guess I'll put it on hold
until then .....
