I've just been play Nascar for a week or so.  Well, longer than that,
but I don't count that time because I stupidily started with the Ace
car right away trying to get the fastest time.  (typical male bone-headedness
:)
Was slightly discouraged, then had the idea of actually following the
instructions and starting with the Easy car and actually learning
how to drive first.  Remarkable difference!
Anyways, I was wondering if someone could take a few laps with the
Easy and Fast cars, and post their speeds.
Preferable, best lap speed, top speed, lowest speed in each corner.
Track doesn't matter.
It would just help to have something to compare my laps to, and strive
for.  Can't really tell how I'm doing looking at posted speeds of
the 'pros' in your heavily modified cars.
Thanks in advance.
(btw, i cant get mail at the moment, so please post replys)

Well, I didn't do what you asked, but my best time at Talledga is 202,163 mph

Happy racing!

You'll always be discouraged.  The better you get, the more upset
you get when you make a mistake and lose first place.  Or forget
to turn damage off and you spend a minute in the pits while you
get lapped by every turtle on the track, or you exceed the pit
speed limit.

One way to know how good you are getting is to compare youself
to your opponents strength.  If you can beat them at 85%, bump it
up to 90%. Then 95% and so on.

Good Luck and stay outta the wall.

What I started out doing was racing small 15, 20 and 25 lap races at
Martinsville.  I started at the lowest, which is 85% I think.  After I
was able to keep the car off the walls and not spin out stomping the
gas out of the corners, I bumped the level up a bit, to 90%.  And so
on...  As for staying with the default setup - no way, I had to go in
and mess with it.

By going with a completely DIFFERENT type of setup for Martinsville
than the supplied setups offer, you can easily run many many laps with
speeds of around 97 mph or so...  Of course, it helps to be consistent
and stay in the groove.  gone are the days of sliding on the first lap
and whacking the wall...

i find if you can keep up with the computer cars at 96% your not gonna get a
car dialed in much better than that. It all comes down to how you drive the car
and track conditions. Also your lap speeds are going to differ under race
conditions. You have to be patient and not try to blow away every car on the
track. Sit back and wait for your opponents to make a mistake and dont take
stupid chances like passing on the tri-oval at talledaga.

With the qual setup I've reached 92.xxx at Martiansville, and 163.xxx at
Darlington.  And with minor adjustments, 215.xxx at 'Dega (no plate)

My personal best at Darlington was a top speed of 190 mph (qual set-up),
and 230 at 'Dega.  As for average, with the auto-break and shift at
Martiansvill I've hit an average of 93.xxx.

Hmmm, how about posting some of that 'Dega setup. I can't get
over 210 MPH... Martinsville with auto brake/shift 93.8 MPH, without
auto brake/shift 103 MPH, but it's not fun...

        Thanks
