NFSIII and Netplay (IPX)

Well, I've tried NFSIII with Kali (IPX) on the net.

It looks like EA has done it again.  The game is SO slow that it is totally
unplayable.  Why is it that EA never gets netplay right?

I'm taking this one back for a refund.  I got this game for netplay.  I
should have known better than to buy something made by EA and then expect
netplay to work.

And a patch to shore up netplay?  I doubt it.

A friend and me played over Kali and IP, and fairly unplayable both ways.
He was hosting with a cable modem, and I was connecting with my regular
modem.  Anyone know if it is better Cable Modem to Cable Modem?
I have this darn cable modem sitting on my desk, just waiting for the cable
company to finish up the networking in my area of town.

Thanx

There's a TCP/IP option also.

It works just great on my Local Area Network, thank you very much.  Running
on minimal specs too.

Please name a driving game that you've found satisfactory over the
Internet.  Also please state your mode of connection (28.8? Cable?
Satellite dish?).

And when did EA actually promise support for Internet play at the first
place? Please refrain from expecting something that is not promised - it is
bad for your mental health :)  Driving games by their nature are much less
tolerant of any lag.

So does Motocross Madness and I had good luck with Ultimate Race Pro AND
Motorhead as well.  No excuse for EA to not optimize there network component
to at least allow 2-player net play.
