Live for speed -- poor sense of speed

Is it just me or does Live For Speed have a poor sense of speed?  When I'm
going 100mph it feels more like 60.  Also, I can't seem to take a corner at
more than 40mph at Blackwood without losing control... oh well back to GPL.

BTW I'm at a pretty much consistent 60fps.

Try adjusting the field of view. The wider the angle the greater the
sensation of speed.

Don't forget that not only are the lfs cars alot slower and heavier than
the gpl cars, you will be sitting higher off the road surface too. With
the latest patch you can adjust the custom cam too.

Find the zoom in and out buttons, or map them, and then try zooming out.
Feels VERY fast to me.  give that a go and find a good balance.

LFS has an accurate sense of speed.  It's all those other ***racing games
that unrealistically made you think the opposite.

Correct.  All of the current crop of genuine simulations have accurately
scaled speed - it's one of the easiest things to simulate.

There's bascially 2 things that govern sense of speed - closeness to the
ground and field of view.  The lower the camera is to the ground the faster
it feels and the wider the field of view, the faster it feels.

And the wider the track, the slower it feels. May be why travelling down a
6m wide backroad feels hella faster than on a 10m wide circuit ;)

It's just you...or your settings...or your poor frame rate.  LFS is very
good and accurate in this regard.
