1) Let's see some crashes already.

2) Those tarred cracks at Talladega look pretty bad.

3) Time to save up for a 1ghz processor.

i dunno... the cracks at tally look pretty realistic to me... the real track
is ugly like that, too :)

i already have some $ stashed for #3- although i might try the cheap way out

If you look closely, you'll notice the cracks at Tally are canned in that
the same "crack" design is repeated over and over down the track.  Look
closely and you'll see it.  The 3 different lanes have a unique crack design,
but that design is repeated down the track.  Would be nice to see more
realistic random cracks, because in it's current form it does look pretty bad.

I was just about to say the same thing.  You really don't notice it on the
first pic at Degga, but it's real easy to pick out on that second one.  A
bit of an annoyance with the repitition, at least to me.

I'd be willing to bet there will be a hot key to turn off the cracks for
those who find them not up to snuff.  Which is to say the cracks aren't all
they are cracked up to be.

David and John, you guy's need to take a break. There are "random cracks"
appearing all right, but they are not a Talladega, if you get my drift !!

Mark, if you're interested in oc'ing a 566, I can give you the email of the

for a while. Problem at 960 was when my room temp hit 90 it sometimes
crashed. At 920 it never crashes.Usually you only pay about $30 more for a
guaranteed oc'er. Can also give you the best place for price and fast
delivery on the Golden Orb fan/heatsink and Abit SlotKet. Altogether it'll
run about $170 to $175.

First we have to deal with "canned spins" in our sims.  Now we have to deal
with "canned cracks".  I'm certainly not buying it...

I suspect that it's something quite obvious in a still like that, but
in a moving shot will be less noticable and from low down in-car will
be indiscernable. That's my thought at least, but is one we'll need to
trust the testers on to feedback what works and what doesn't.

Correct.

Look at the grass textures in GPL from a replay TV camera view, compared to
sitting in the car.  They look boring and repetitive from a replay view, but
get the job done in car.
