Problem with # of cars in SCGT...

by Screamin' Stev » Sat, 23 Mar 2002 14:36:04

I am using a couple different exe files for various divisions and they all
seem to crash to the desktop if I try to run a quick race with more than 20
opponents on most tracks.  Haven't tried all tracks but LeMans crashes with
more than 7!  If anyone knows anything I could do to try to fix this problem
I would greatly appreciate it!  It happens on the original tracks and new
tracks, and I do have the 23 car patch installed.
ThanX for any advice you have to offer!

The Le Mans track is a tough one because it is so much bigger than what
the sim builders started with.  So much of your system memory is filled up
just loading the track.  first make sure you have the newest version of le
Mans,  the dload should be one file not four like the first version.  2nd.
try and lower the track detail AND car detail.  3rd.  Don't use the fancy
High Polygon cars.  I've found the bone stock cars use less memory...but who
wants to race them?  I have 256mb of system memory and 7 or 8 is my max as
well,   Bumping to 512 couldn't hurt.
this site will list how many cars each track is capable of handling...i.e.
the # of cars before pit problems or memory problems arise.

Well, the dropping of details to medium got me 20 cars at LeMans, but I
still can't get more than 20 opponents on any track.

   I'm stumped, but I'll ask for a little clarification....you can't get
more than 20 because it crashes or won't load the track or you start in an
odd position.???
