F1RS - Not enough disk space?

by Tom Hesselm » Thu, 22 Jan 1998 04:00:00

I am in US and ordered F1RS from UBI after reading about it here. I
received UK version.

After installing 3DFx install (large install, 200 megs) on PPro200 at
233, 96 Meg, 9.1 gig worth of hard drives, Pure3D, Matrox Mill., I get
a 'Can't initialize, not enough room on your hard drive' error. I have
it on a partition that had 1 gig free before install, it is I:\. There
is 425 free on C:\. What gives? I installed a 1.05 patch I got from
the net and it didn't fix it. Restarted computer, all the first do
stuff, nothing.

I have to go to work now, will check back later tonight and see if
anyone can help.

Thanks

What is the size of your swap-file? The problem might be with a too small a
swapfile.

F1RS - Not enough disk space?

No one has any suggestions?

I uninstalled and reinstalled, this time to the partition where my
swap file is, a partition that has 1.3 gig free before installing
F1RS. Same thing. Fail on Launching dialog box that says 'Cannot
Initialize F1RS: You do not have enough space on your hard drive'

Will uninstall and reinstall, try small install, etc.

Anyone have a suggestion? Could I have a bad disk? Does UBI US support
this game? Left email on UBI UK last night, no reply yet.
