I've seen this mentioned on this NG several times now and I'm sorry to inform you
that it just doesn't work this way. The faster you are going, the *less* steering
effort is required to turn the wheel. That'a why cars that have speed sensitive
power steering (I'm refering to street cars here, of course) *reduce* the level
off assist provided by the power steering as speeds increase.

If this effect was properly modeled with force feedback the wheel would be
*extremelly* difficult to turn while at a stop, with resistance gradually
decreasing as speed increased. I would imagine that the motors required to do this
effectively and smoothly without wearing out in a matter of days, if not minutes,
would cost way too much too ever be practical for *** use. They'd make the
price of an ECCI look like pocket change!

I disagree. Brushless motors or solenoids are extremely reliable and
simple. They may consume a fair bit of power but some current FF
wheels require a wall outlet anyway.

FF can easily be done well with todays technology for under $200 US.
