GPL patch is needed....and so is one for NR 1999

Since my previous post deteriorated into adolescent blathering (where have I
heard that before?), let me be clear.  The GPL 1.1 patch is long overdue.
Yes, GPL is a brilliant piece of software and has far fewer bugs and
problems than probably any other racing game out there...congratulations
Papy.  It is far from perfect, though, and there are many, many single
player gameplay issues and small bugs that need to be addressed.  Adding
more robust multi-player support is great, too, but that's hardly the only
requirement.

NR1999 is even more need of a patch than GPL, which is shocking considering
the lineage involved in NR1999.  Nevertheless, I hope a patch will be
forthcoming soon.  There is nothing like buying an "upgrade" of a program to
have it perform (in some ways) worse than its predecessors.  This certainly
reminds me of MGPRS2 1.0, which seemed to have been an upgrade of F1RS 1.0
instead F1RS 1.09 as you would expect.  Why re-patch the same bugs over and
over again??  I didn't expect this from Papy.

I love GPL...it is by far the best racing simulator created for the PC to
date, but that doesn't mean that it is acceptable for a patch to take 8
months (or more...who knows!!!) to be released when 99% of the problems were
identified in the first few weeks after release.

Marc.

Wrong!  Everything you have said here, and some you didn't, are all wrong!
Even some things you haven't said yet are wrong! </tic>

OK...even I can laugh at your reply.

If FFB is incorporated into the GPL patch (see posts above), and it
miraculously adds to the experience instead of detracting from it, I will
eat my words and say that it was worth waiting this long.

FFB in NR1999?  I doubt it, so my opinion on the delay on that one still
stands.
