Is anyone using TrackIR with a racing sim. It seems like a good idea except
that when moving your head you'll have to move your eyes the other way to
keep track of the monitor which doesn't move. This would make it a bit
strange wouldn't it?

No it wouldn't. The sensitivity is adjustable.

TIR works brilliantly in flight sims like IL-2 but it is a liability in
racing sims. Don't even go there.

So, no it wouldn't be strange, but it's a liability,  could you expand
please?

Dont see why it would be a liability in racesims. I'm using it, and I am no
more a liability than without - if I ever was.

Andi >> Keeping eyes front when turning your head happens without thinking
about it. Just focus on something on the screen, and then turn your head.
But when I'm driving I'm tilting my head instead of turning it, when driving
in/out of corners. It's only when I have to check my sides or mirrors, I
turn my head. Tilting the head is a natural thing for me, I do it
automatically, so it was just a question of adapting the trackers
sensitivity to my head movement.

I am very happy with TIR, and I cant race without it now. I have gotten used
to using it, and I just cant hit the corners right anymore, when not using
TIR. Infact, my cornering is better than ever when using TIR.

But wouldn`t you suffer from stiff necks....? cos if you are using wheels
and pedals and by moving your arms and legs your bound to move your head a
little.... or not... not sure now lol

I guess its just a question of teaching your head and eyes todo something
different than normal... but would it mess up what you did in real life..?
