Hello,

Am I the only one around here that thinks that the news that codemasters
is doing a BTTC sim is the best news since colour monitors ?

Here's another guy who thinks so. Actually, I would have thought that it
would be quite marketable since every European state, Australia, South
Africa, Latin America and the US have their own Touring car series.
Perhaps thing will change in the UK with the Beeb's more extensive
broadcast of the races and improved public awareness.

I'm quite sure that Touring cars are much different animals than a
NASCAR painted to look like a Volvo 850R...Actually, worldwide, I wonder
which series, NASCAR or touring cars has the largest viewing audience?

Cheers,

Stanley Chan

Hmmmm, well. The news that a BTCC sim is coming out is good, but the
news that Codemasters is doing it is bad. I hope it isn't like Micro
Machines :)
But seriously, when Codemasters is mentioned, I can't get green and
yellow spectrum games out of my head, so I'm wondering how they'll be
able to produce a fast, smooth, attractive, realistic simulation.
Someone please put me straight on this and give me assurance it'll be
worthwhile...

---No contest on the viewing audience. NASCAR wins hands down. Just
imagine last weeks race at Bristol; it was sold out, 117000 seats, and
then you have the TV audience. The BTCC is excellent; definitely my euro
favourite, and I pray for a decent Super Touring Sim to come out. But I
think NASCAR is the greater crowdpuller simply because it is more common
to attend sports events in general in the US-basketball on thursday,
baseball on Friday, Football on Saturday, and NASCAR on Sunday.....
It is nice to see that the S.T formula is growing-it is now even run in
the states, and over here in Scandinavia.

Well, it's a fact that the BTCC alone pulls over 1 billion viewers
worldwide, and that was in 1995, when the series was relatively minor to
what it is now. Then, think about the Super Touring World Cup, and the
NATCC [or whatever it's called now], the Spanish, French, South African
and STW championships. There must be a lot of viewers...

Are there any screenshots anywhere? Where did you hear that they are
doing a BTCC sim?

You will be pleased to know that a developer has the licence and is
working on an Auto-Trader BTCC game. Should be around Christmas 1997.

You're not forgotten!!!
IMHO "The mountain" is one (if not THE one) of the best tracks in the
world!!!

Would love to race it! (and i know for a fact the Matt favours it aswell!)
BTW, how "good" is the "Touring Cars Champions" game anyway??

It's really dire. It would've made a good Bathurst video for a CD-ROM,
but someone put a weird box-shuffling game hovering 3ft over the track.
