That is why I try to make it every race I can, trying to finish on the lead
lap.  It took a lot of cautions at a track no one had experience on to do it
but I did  *G*.  I am without a doubt a newbie to sim racing, there are few
tracks I am comfortable on.  Many of the guys racing in Rascar seem to be
open wheel drivers that for whatever reason also like to drive Nascar.  From
reading this group as a whole I would say it is because of the Multiplayer
abilities Papy has designed.  Having said that, David there are leagues you
can join that are stricter, they also cost money, and you may even win some.
I don't want to wreck, myself or anyone else, I do practice, any track I do
not know I turn on the line.  If I still have trouble I use assistance.
Even then, I make mistakes.  Just last night, for whatever reason, I kept
diving low to get around accidents.  It is a much better idea to go high,
chances are better you will get through them at this (self cleaning) track.
We all do this to race, get the rush, WIN!  We are not professionals and we
have nothing on the line but our pride.  If I race you for a position mid
pack it is because I want to be 7th instead of 8th.  Or I am having trouble
staying behind you.  So what!  I joined rascar for as realistic an
experience as possible without having unknowns involved like wreckers.
Seriously dude, Get over your ideas that everyone is as good as you, or that
their connection is as good as yours.  Keep your eyes open and leave plenty
of room around you for the first ten laps or so, then the field should be
nicely cleared out for you to make your run.  I for one hate getting flamed
by someone because I made a mistake and they can't realize this is a game.
I get upset if someone wrecks me but unless it is blatent (hasn't been one
yet, though I thought Larry might be trying to get me in one race :-P)  I
just go on and try to make the experience as realistic as possible for the
other drivers by repairing my car and hoping I can improve my position by
completing the race.

I hope you both understand that I have no complaints about any other tracks,
or anything any other driver does in RASCAR. I've never once made even the
slightest single negative comment towards someone either during the race or
after who wrecked me.

My only complaint is how we as a group race the SS tracks. As a group, there
seems to be an overall poor approach to them. Much of it may be how people
are approaching the races mentally, rather than how good they are. I don't
know, but I do know that the same junk happens race after race after race.

Read my last couple of posts just posted.

I've never uttered one complaint towards anyone in the two seasons of RASCAR
races (that's a lot). I like racing with you to. No problem with any
individual ever.

It's strictly the attitude that we have as a GROUP towars the SS tracks that
really bugs me. You weren't racing with us last year, and I'm not sure you
were in on the first SS races this year, but things haven't gotten better.
They've always been bad and nobody seems to care because everytime a SS race
comes along, there's almost no discussion of themit like there normally is
for the other tracks. We've gotten better at the other tracks over the past
two seasons, but not the SS tracks.

Watch, we'll probably have two yellows tomorrow, and I'll cause them both.

I'm with John on this one.

However, the changes Papy is proposing for the draft scare me a little.

I'm able to consistently win SS races because I have a knack for using the
draft in interesting ways.  They absolutely destroyed the draft in NR2002,
and it had a horrendous effect on me.  I later learned that the now infamous
NR2002 cheats were a big part of it, but the lousy draft characteristics of
NR2002 were troublesome to me.

I have my fingers crossed :)

I'm far more concerned with the aero-push than I am the draft.  I feel they
are out to fix the wrong thing.

McWhom (what the hell IS your first name, anyway :)),

I think you'll do ok.  It's not a hard track.  But Dave is right about one
thing.  You have to watch the corner exits with the fast setup in NR2003.
You have to practice with a full field, in traffic, to understand why :)

The aero and grip push in NR2003 with the fast setup is pretty wicked,
especially coming out of turn 4.  That bump doesn't help any.

I wish the fast setup was modeled after the setup Tim made for the group.
It's the best Daytona setup I've ever used, and it elimitates the aero push
out of 4.

See ya there!
