Mine is a comparable system I think
Less RAM, different Mobo, Geforce Ultra 64 instead of Pro

ASUS A7M266 Mobo
AMD Athlon T-Bird 1.2GHz DDR Processor
256 Mb DDR RAM
3D Power GeForce Ultra 64MB Graphics Card
Soundblaster Live 5.1
Windows ME (with all unnecessary ***uninstalled or disabled)

3DMark2001 default benchmark (1024x768 32):   3635

For Windows 95, going above 64MB is a waste of time in most cases.  Win95
doesn't use it very well.

Win98 can utilize effectively up to 128MB.

More than 128MB in Win98 would need to be utilized by the application to
show improvements.  The OS doesn't get much out of >128MB.

However, a lot of the games we play certainly can use it, so it's still
worth considering.

Win2K is another story alltogether.  It can use just about anything you
throw at it, and it's quite willing to try :)

IMHO, the Hercules GeForce II GTS Pro is the best overall price/performance
card right now.

Close to the performance of the Ultra but $150 cheaper :)

Could IRQ sharing with the video card slow it down a little?
I had a real hard time sorting out the IRQ's so that my video capture card
would work on its own IRQ, and now everything else is sharing.

3DMark2001 - Results

by Amik » Tue, 20 Mar 2001 10:05:42

2299 for mine but with the Geforce2 MX it would not complete some of
the test. I'm assuming this is limitations of the card itself and was
actually wondering if the Geforce2 GTS would be that much faster? At
any rate, this computer still flies so I guess the old saying goes,
"Don't fix what isn't broken". hehe

I played with the overclocking of the card and found some stable speeds.
The final results were 2505.  Increased the core from 130Mhz to 145Mhz and
the RAM from 301Mhz to 340Mhz.

3DMark2001 - Results

I  think Anandtech had an article about it. It seems to be made for new
features that DX8.0 supports, and some of those features are not out on
video card yet. GeForce 3 is going to have most of the features.
