Hi, I have gpl and have raced online a lot in the past.  I just reformatted
my hd and reinstalled gpl. I want to hook up a two player game with my
friend and I.  He has tcp/ip as an option in teh multiplayer screen.  But I
don't.  I have ipx and the two com ports.  I connect via ethernet card to a
t3 line.  I tried alternate_ip_addr_lookup = 1;  but it hasn't worked.  What
am I missing? please help!!!! I need that tcp/ip option!

If you're running GPL 1.0, and behind a firewall(or using DHCP) you might get
this error.  I had that problem at work, but ver 1.1 seems to have solved the
DHCP problem.

Do you have the tcp/ip stack installed? check your network settings
and see if that protocol is bound to your ethernet adapter.
