When loading a new car set the new car set must be in its own directory
withing the cars directory.  \nascar\cars\(carsetX)
In addition, the name of the directory must be the same as the name on
the carset.dat file.  For example if the carset is called cars96.dat,
the directory must also be named cars96.  Also the original cars94 must
be there as well.  Check to see if the names match and it should fix
your problem.  My game crashed a few times befor I discovered this.

I was loading a car set when my computer crashed.  Every time I try to
load the game, I get an unable to load CARS message.  Is there an easy
way to fix this problem without reinstallation?

Thanks for any help,
Jeremy

Jeremy,

If I'm not mistaken you can delete a file in the C:\NASCAR directory
called  gameopts.cfg  that should allow you to reload the Sim. with
it's defaults in place.

I had the same problem and I reinstalled Nascar en masse, later I figured
out that it was a misnamed directory.  Make sure that your multicar set
is in the following directory "C:\nascar\cars\multicar".  Also make sure
that you run Hawaii from inside the Nascar directory, not a sub directory.

I have had this same problem when I inadvertantly changed the file
name when that set was loaded in the game.  By changing the file name
back, I was able to correct this problem.
