Daly has the perfect mix of technical knowledge, love of the sport, and
ability to convey e***ment at what happens on the track, and he's
quick. (And funny, of course)
I always loved listening to Eddie Cheever during trackside interviews,
especially at Indy, but a couple of years ago when he did F1 for a race
or two for Speedvision I was surprised by how much I did not like him.
He really turned it up a few notches and got to the point where
everything he said was fascinating and he would not let anyone else
talk, going a mile a minute. It seemed like he had a lot to get out
and did not realize how it was sounding to the rest of us. If he
retired from driving (or crashing, lately ;) ), he would need some
coaching to work well with a team, I think. Interesting guy.
