NSR - Momo Racing Wheel - Here is the answer!

Ok folks, I got this puppy nailed.  Here's what you need to do.  This may
help with other wheels too:

First, if you don't have the Wingman Profiler installed, you'll need to do
this.  I cannot help you otherwise and you will never get this right without
it.

In the Wingman Profiler (Specific Game Settings for your NSR Profile), set
the following:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall Effects Strength - 100
Spring Effect Strength - 100 (note, this is NOT the centering spring)
***Damper Effect Strength - 0 (Zero, none.  nada.  THIS is what is killing
your FF and giving that mushy feel)***
Enable Centering Spring - Disabled

In the Game:
-------------
FF on of course
Reverse Forces
JOYSTICK (not wheel)
FF Level to 50 (adjust per track as needed)
FF Effects - High or Full.  The only thing full adds is a 'rumble' effect to
make it feel like the track service.  To me, it feels like it just dumps
gravel into my wheel assy.  It's not convincing at all, and tends to
overbear the tire grip forces.  I recommend High instead of Full for this
reason.

I'm sorry to report the game does not appear to have any sort of effects for
grass or bumps that I can tell (at Daytona, at least).  With the above
settings you _will_ finally feel wall hits and car impacts though.

Hope this helps everyone!

You actually do not need the profiler, Larry--you can make all those
settings using the Windows game controller.  You might also want to
bump up that FF level to 80-100 as I am feeling the grass just fine,
right after I did the switch to joystick earlier (and that is the only
change I made) it was very easy to tell when on the grass.

Where the profiler comes in handy is massaging your individual axis.

BTW I tried using the Joystick instead of wheel and sure enough it fixed the
FF which is now much much better though I still get that disconnected
feeling from the track unlike GTR.  The big bumps at C***te dont exist
to the Momo where even the high frequency bumps at Spa in GTR come through
loud and clear.

Cool.  I don't run without the profiler so I could not assume the damper
control was available without it.

I have the same feeling, but fiddling around with the FFB Strength
slider can really make a difference here.  I like 88% everywhere so
far.  Infineon has really impressed me, and I am finding the driving
model quite enjoyable, and a huge leap over last years Thunder 2004.  I
am also noticing setups having quite an effect on the 'feel' on the
track.  For the heck of it, I took the PWF Expert setup from NR2003 and
entered those values in this sim.  While Mr. Bob Stanley has stated
(and correctly so) you would be better off with the Jasper setups, the
PWF setup made a huge difference in how the car felt.  Some of the
settings were definitely wrong for this physics model, but to be
honest, I am really enjoying the sim.

I wish you did not have to 'tweak' it so much, and I wish they would
just put in another menu with checkboxes for these settings--but it is
more than worth the effort here.  I am certainly not tossing NR2003 to
the trash heap, but I now have two excellent simulators to play.  I am
hugely disappointed in the pathetic manual that shipped with the sim.
A new low in PC software documentation that I am sure on EA themselves
can top with the next release--a Half Life 2 boxed copy 'manual card'.
But EA will print on only one side....

Speaking of Sears Point how the heck do you see over the dashboard when
coming over t-2 and t-2a?  All I see is sky and the very top of the
boundary fence.  NP at the Glen though.  And dont say "roof-ride" ;)

You're disparaging my ride.
