NHRA (TANTRUM RESPONDS)

(I emailed Tantrum about NHRA a little while ago and this was their
encouraging response.)

Hi Craig,

Thanks for the kind words about the game. I really appreciate you taking
the time to send us some feedback.

The specs for an NHRA On-Line league are being worked out now and we
will be making some announcement in the near future, So hang in there. I
did post on out site early on thet muti-player would be a post release
feature.

Playing at higher res is possible and we should be able to include this
in a patch. 640X480 simply addresses the masses. At no time in ***
has the install base seen a wider range of HW that needs supporting. We
are trying to take advantage of all of the new stuff without bumming out
the minimum platform.

On the load time issue, when a new track is loaded you will see a longer
load time. Any subsequent race at that venue should see load times
decrease dramatically. Also, keep the in car driver off to increase load
times. Our scenes are highly detailed so this is the price we pay...

To support a wide variety of 3d cards, we could not afford to port to
specific APIs in V1.0. If 3DFX will work with us, a "Glide" specific
3DFX version is something that could happen in the future. Drop them a
note to say you would like to see this.

The dash art is created at high res so at AGP texture level this will
improve. Keep in mind though that the top fuel/funny car dashes are
pretty sparse. They really don't do much with instruments during a race.
For example, they will really only check to see if they have oil
pressure after they start the car.

The sound is looped to cut down on the amount of RAM needed fopr the
sould bite. We could have a more unique sound, but we would pay a heavy
price for it. We will look into this sice you mentioned it however.

The controller issue will be fixed for sure...not to worry.

Have you been raced a Full Pass Season yet. This is where the big boys
race. That's the place were all of the elements come together, tuning w/
variable weather, driving skill and reactions.

Thanks again for your feedback. Remember we are fans first and foremost.
That's why this game was created so feel free to drop us a line anytime
you think of something that would make the game better.

Good racin'
