I've yet to see any computer controlled car crash in Burnout.  I've done a
few myself, but are they really all that perfect?  And I've changed settings
from rookie to pro, and still they all make perfect runs...  what gives?

What gives, is that this is the #2 reason I returned it :-) #3 was
the fact that you can build unreallistic cars. #1 was inability to run
anything other than Sportsman class racing (even if it was headsup).

I have had Burnout for over a week now and I have seen The AI cars
redlight more than once. I don't think I have seen any accidents playing
on 100%, but accidents are not that common. I haven't actually ran
against the AI that much, since I have been having such a great time
playing on Kali.

I too have seen them redlight, but I'm only referring to actual crashes...

Kyle,

Have you seen any blown engines at all or other mechanical failures?

Have you seen an AI smoke the tires during a run, thus losing?

Have you blown your engine or had a breakdown?

Can you run a season at different tracks with qualifying, eliminations
etc?

Is your car affected by changing weather conditions or other factors?
Are the AI?

Is there a driver cam replay of the pass you made?

Is Burnout merely an online type game like CPR with AI thrown in as an
afterthought?

I'm trying real hard to find enough good in this "game" to make it worth
spending the money on but so far I dont see a lot. I like the idea of
drag sims but Burnout doesnt seem to be that good from what I read so
far.

NHRA Drag Racing is stictly Pro categories so it would be nice to have a
sim of all classes as well, maybe version 2?

yes

yes most definately

wouldn't know I don't mAake passes I'm always infront :)

Runs great and I have fun with it offline, but ofcourse it's better online

Well Trev I have called  2 EB's,3 circuit citys,2 Best Buys,3 computer citys
in my little rural area of Polk County FL. aand guess what they have all
sold out of burnout within a week of the date they received the game you can
not find the game in my area right now because there is none left right
now.Seems to be doing pretty well to me and SHRA has over 300 members now
and going more and more everyday since the release date.Hopefully NHRA will
do this well in such a short period of time.

Thanks a lot for the help, you've convinced me that Burnout is
everything I have ever wanted in a sim, I'll run out and buy it
immediately.

What sold me is the fact that you get X Car for free :)

You mean to tell me you are doing  all this whining about what is wrong with
Burnout and you didn't even buy the game to see what it really is like. Your
opinions are starting to sound as if you have a personal vendetta against
Bethesda and not based on your actual running of the software. What seems to be
your problem?

I guess I'll have to put the time in.  I've been playing it a lot and
enjoying the heck out of it :)  It really is fun.  I've been putting my best
funny car setup in other cars (like the Burnout Nova) and it's just so cool
how that thing get's airborne after doing MAJOR wheelies!  I love it...  I
had a dragster flying through the air sideways and it flipped over 9
TIMES!!!  (like a plane doing aileron rolls).

But still no AI car crashes yet... is there a certain setting I need to have
set?  I've tried rookie, between rookie and pro, and pro.

Well now this is interesting, Burnout must really be a serious sim,
right? I mean you see a lot of Novas on TV set up like FCs right?

  I love it...  I

Now thats truly awesome, was your driver OK?

Now you go and ruin it for me, you had me convinced we had a serious
Drag sim on our hands and now you tell me that there are no AI crashes?
I know that they do crash because I've seen the ads on TV for tapes of
crashes at drag meets.

He gets paid to knock burnout and promote NHRA. Isnt it obvious.. he does
such a bad job id rather not buy NHRA Drag racing now. Him having to do this
shows how much of a threat burnout is to NHRA, congratulations Bethesda.

Playing on Kali?  How good is this?  It seems to me that with
differences in latency, drag races would be useless.  I dont have the
game, I love the idea.
