SBK 2000 replay problem

by Simon Brow » Tue, 07 Aug 2001 08:09:13

Does anyne know how to fix the replay crash bug on SBK 2000?

Basically, I get the message "SBK 2000 has caused an exception in module
SHIBA.DLL" every time when trying to load replays.  SHIBA.DLL is an SBK 2000
file, not a windows/directx file.  The game works fine.  If I view replays
during the race they are also fine, it's just loading a saved replay that
won't work.  The progress bar gets to 100% loading the replays before the
crash happens.  The machine doesn't hang btw, it just forces me to quit back
to windows.

I'm using WinME at the moment, but i've also had the same problem in the
past with SBK 2000 and Win98.  Also i've seen it mentioned here before, so I
was hoping someone might know a solution.

Thanks,
Simon.

(p.s. please don't post general PC troubleshooting advice, my PC is working
fine)

hmmmmmmm...... Get SBK2001 ? I take it that you are using the EA SBK ? I
didn't spend to much time with SBK2000 because of all the screaming for a
patch in the Highgear forums about the bugs in the game (spent my time with
the AMA Superbike online fiasco,,,,LOL). Actually what I did play in SBK2k,
I did very well at Laguna Seca, even ran several races. But I think I was
running the game using Win95 OSR2. Back up your OS to Win95 ?

I know that this isn't much help but SB2001 is what I think everybody is
running now. That's how EA Sports does things, no patches, just buy the
whole game again.

I tried the SBK 2001 demo, but it was so much slower than 2000.  With SBK
2000 I can turn everything on full and still get smooth frame rates with a
full field, not so with the 2001 demo, particularly on replays.  Anyway,
cheers for the advice :)

Thats odd Simon. I found SBK2001 better & faster then SBK2000.
I have both full boxed retail versions.... Anyway I was surprised to
see your response..:) O well different PCs I guess? -Thom_j.

Hi Thom,

It's mainly the replays that were going a bit slow in the SBK 2001 demo.
Maybe it's just because it's a demo, it could have been a bug that's fixed
in the full version.  I'll pick up the full SBK 2001 when I get some cash :)

Simon.
