"lost" on me? I think you better re-read the post that went along with Don
Burnette's post. If not just let it go...Thom_j.

|
| >I have been waiting for this post {since this thread began} for how long
| >now?
| >Thank you Don Burnette... Some of these posts are starting to frighten
| >me! I hope they don't work for NASA or our Defense Department!! Phew....
| >Thom_j.
|
| All the practice in the world is not going to help us avoid the AI drivers
| who often appear oblivious to our existence.  When that happens, I sure
| wish you could just restart (or better, load from a midrace saved game)
| instead of having to exit the track, wait for it to reload, and start all
| over from scratch.
|
| Was that point really lost on you?
|
| Best regards,
| Rick

Tim. As I stated many post ago. I will just hop into a race at the end of
the
grid and try to race my way up {hopefully to 1st, 2nd or 3rd} The idea of
constantly re-starting is wasteful.. Just race & race & race. imho you'll
get
alot more out of running in the pack with or without "damage off" then just
keep redundantly re-starting. N4 is a race sim/game not Real-Life Nascar.
Cheers Thom_j.

| Problem with that is running in traffic does change the air, and setups
| For the most advanced testing, it simply doesnt help

NEXT to you?????  how about to tell them there is a car spun on the track so
they don't ram the hell out of you one right after another....or to tell them
there is a slow car ahead....(limp back to the pits with a blown tire once and
see if they don't ram you before you can get down on the apron)....What a bunch
of blind willy's....

Don Burnett

Papyrus please include these in a patch!

I think one thing folks are missing with this sim, mainly newer ones that
perhaps haven't driven GPL, is taking their time and "learning" it. Yes, it
is way different than previous Nascar sims. Think you could just hop into a
750 hp stock car and be fairly fast and consistant in the real world right
out the chute?  No way man. Your not going to be able to just drop into a
100% ai race and bully your way to the front of the field, you'll be packing
your car up and***ing your wounds on the way home.
Practice, practice, practice. Then practice some more. Learn the tracks.
Learn how far you can get away with your braking. Tweak your brake bias and
setups for YOUR style of  driving. You'll do nothing but continue to
improve, and you'll find you can beat those other guys cleanly.
It ain't gonna happen overnight.

Some people do nothing wrong.
The problem is, they do nothing.
And THAT is wrong.
