Very dull indeed, and as expected the director spent most of the race
focused on the shiny red cars.

Highlight of the race.. Barrichello flipping Eddie Irvine the finger for
holding him up.  :o)

Agreed, but Imola in its current post 1994 configuration is particularly bad
for overtaking

F1 : The most boring race EVER ?

"David G Fisher"
I was thinking about this the other day.  Comparing Ralf and JPM is kinda
like the good ol days in CART.  Both Paul Tracey and Michael Andretti had
more natural/pure speed than Al Unser Jr.  but when the racing was over, JR
had two Indys, and two CART Championships.  Even when running the Penske car
that Tracey had tested all winter, PT 'could' be faster at almost every
track, but Jr. grabbed the bulk of the points.
I think now that JPM has gotten a tour of all the ciruits, we will get a
better picture of the two.  I'm impressed with Ralf this year, he seemed to
go very flat near the end of last season.  Think of Ralf as Jr and JPM as
Tracey...that might be a pretty fair comparison.

If they ever get a working system that shows the cars all together on the
track like that web display...then WRC will really explode.

I don't understand your obsession with this issue, DGF. What are you
trying to prove?

As for "distracted by the WTC bombings", what gives RS the right to be
more affected than anyone else?

The only problem with that comparison is that as teammates, RS has qualified
and finished better than JPM. JPM is more ragged so I think some people
confuse that with speed.

This reminds me of the silly GPL related accusations. If I don't tow the
company line than I'm a psycho trouble maker. I can hear Montoya this and
Montoya that over and over but when I finally respond with facts then I'm
obsessed. Lol.

Maybe I'll make a big deal out of everything RS does from here on out like
some people do with JPM. It may just seem like I'm out to prove something
because RS is actually the better driver and I'll have more to cheer about.

That's how he and a soon to be five time F1 champion both felt. They are
entitled to their views just like you are.

Montoya tries too hard, Schumacher doesn't try hard enough.

Doesn't say much for JPM if RS can outperform him without even trying hard.

BTW, where did you guys buy the device which measures how hard an F1 driver
is trying?

"David G Fisher"

They can measure everything in F1 these days, David.

They analyse the pit radio conversation. If you don't swear enough then you can
hardly be trying can you? My journeys to work would sometimes register on the
Montoya meter...

well RS was behind his brother in brazil for 10 laps without even TRYING
JPM was behind the same guy in brazil and tried TOO HARD, TOO SOON.

When you see a guy whose rear wheels are more than seldom not in line with
his front wheels that means he's trying "too much", on the other hand when
you come back on the race leader at 1 sec per lap and you join him 10-12
laps before the end and you don't even show your ugly blue nose on his
mirrors ONCE, then it means you're not trying enough...

Just my opinion though, and yes DGF, F1RC is still the best F1 sim around
!!!

By the 2 seconds a lap ralph found at the end of the race that he didn't
have for the ten laps before it.
By the way he caught his brother in the space of 6 laps and sat behind him
at brazil.

A stop watch can tell you how hard a driver is trying. They're relatively
inexpensive.

You're right though- it doesn't say much for JPM.

LOL indeed. To quote you -

"What I noticed is that RS outqualified JPM and then crushed him in
the race.
That's three races in a row he's out performed JPM, and RS also
qualified
better than him in Australia. But.......the next time JPM happens to
finish
ahead of RS, I'm sure we'll hear how good he is over and over.
"

Responding with facts, yes. But your response was off on a tangent to
the original message and designed specifically to provoke a response.
Nobody even mentioned RS v JPM until you bought the issue up. You seem
pretty obsessed to me.

JPM was upset too. It's affected his performance all season.

No need to try and impress me with statistics, either :-)
