TSW N2002 calibration problem

TSW N2002 calibration problem

by John Pancoas » Tue, 12 Mar 2002 02:01:02

Guy in my league asked me about this, not sure myself.

Anyone ever seen/heard of this?  The unit seems to "lose" it's calibration
over the course of a race, gets more "twitchy", that's not related to tire
wear, fuel level, etc.
Running in XP, and trying to use the generic driver in N2002 results in
the TSW not being recognized.

  Thanks.

Depends on what pots he has. I read somewhere that Win XP doesn't like
pots under a value of 250 ohms (might be because of the USB adapter
too).. That might the cause. As far as the "twitchyness" goes, I would
guess that might be a heat issue (but don't quote me on that).
Furthermore, in the user manual of the TSW, they recommand the use of
the "direct input" drivers to achieve better results.

TSW N2002 calibration problem

The generic driver in N4 and N2002 is dead under XP.  All the sliders are
grayed out. (I run a TSW2 set)

I haven't heard of the twitchy problem though.

TSW N2002 calibration problem

Not sure about his specific problem, but there are issues with XP and the
TSW wheels.  The recommended pots for use with XP are the 250K ones.  I had
bought the 50K ones (88.00 for 4) trying to solve the problem before the TSW
site starting recommending the 250K ones which are only 12.00 each.  It did
make my wheel better going to the 250K pots, but I still am not quite
satisfied with the stability.  I have ordered the USB adapter from TSW also.
Phillip Malphrus Jr. has recently changed his pots to the 250K ones and
added the USB adapter, and his wheel now works great, even in F1-2001 which
everyone was having issues with when using split axis on the TSW.

Check out the TSW website...the problem sounds like what they have posted.
