Nascar Pro & CH Pedals

I am looking to upgrade from my TM GP1 to a TM Nascar Pro. I currently use
CH pedals with my GP1. Does anyone know if there is a way I can make the CH
pedals work with the Nascar Pro wheel or is there no problem with that
setup? Thanks for any help you may provide.

It does work, but you will need to get an extension for the wheel connector,
and you will need to select Thrustmaster FormulaT1/T2 as the adapter on the
Pro panel.  You can also select a generic joystick driver I suppose.  After
my CH pedal pots started acting I went back to TM pedals but I miss the CH
pedals.  They are very comfortable.

On a semi-related topic, when is someone going to design a proper
optical/ditigal wheel? Given the notoriously unreliable pots in
current generation wheel, it seems like a no brainer.

It's done.  Check out the Saitec R4 at http://www.saitekusa.com/

They're due out this month, & I've got one on pre-order, so I'll be sure to
post a review when I get it.

Cool. That looks like a nice wheel. What's the price on that baby? Do
you know if it's a 3-axis wheel (i.e., gas and brakes on seperate
axis)?

I was thinking about a Nascar Pro, but given all it's reliability
problems I may wait for the Saitec instead.

Whatever you do, pass on the Nascar Pro.  I bought one, hated it & returned it
post-haste.  The wheel is ok, though the buttons are poorly placed, and the
clamps are great, but the pedals SUCK.  A GP1 with CH pedals is much better,
especially if you move the stops to give 270deg. rotation, per Alison Hine.
Plus, it gives you a clutch.  If you look at all the new TM stuff on their
site, they've redone about all of their pedal arrangements.  The Supersport
looks about the best of their new lot to me.

As for the Saitec R4, they're $119.95 for the std., and $199.95 for the FF
model, which uses Microsoft's FF technology, not Immersion's, for those
interested in FF; none for me, thanks.  The std. model is due out this month,
the FF in November.  By the way, Thrustmaster also has a digital model coming
out; it's on their website.  No date or price last time I looked.

The Saitec can be set up with either single or dual axis pedals.  Also, it's
quite adjustable.  The wheel height is adjustable, as is the amount of
self-centering force AND both the throttle and brake resistance - all
separately.  Hope it pans out as well as it promises.

Happy hunting,

Thanks for the tip. I do have a set of CH Pedals (which I presume are
2-axis, allowing gas+brake at the same time?) so I may go with a GP1.
