Chivalry is dead!
The most annoying thing about GPL is its lack of chivalry. Okay, so I'm out on
my first (slow) lap in practice. I get blue flagged. I pull over to let the
faster car pass. Now my turn. I'm on my best, fastest most glorious lap. A slow
car ahead. Does he get blue flagged? Does he move over? DOES HE, HELL!  My lap
RUINED!
OUTCOME: I do not move over anymore when blue flagged, I make every effort to
ruin THEIR laps. All I need to know now, is when does this develope into
outright WAR!
Just had to get this off my chest. This situation caused me to secure only 4th
place at Silverstone instead of pole. Won the race, so their selfish tactics
didn't work anyway!

Maybe he was doing the best he could just to stay ON the track.  The nice
(and
most annoying) thing about GPL online is the variety of ppl you race
against.
Everyone isn't running within a second or two of the track record.   That
slow
person ahead of you might have been on his out lap, cold tires, struggling
to
stay on the line.  If you want to only race against hot lappers, join a
league.

Well, that's helpful...

As a slower person (now, anyway), I get out of people's way WHEN i can.  But
if you expect me to move offline on a out lap while I'm setting up for a
corner,
you'll have a long wait.  And - since you won anyway - what's the big deal?

Alan:
It is more likely that the poor sod didnt even know you were there.

Yeah, I get the point! But why aren't they shown blue flags?
Note: I've calmned down now. Just raced Silverstone (novice) again just to make
sure it wasn't a 'fluke' win. Qualified 1st 1:30.86 and lead all the way home.
Gonna move on to intermediate now.

Alan

Apparently, you can only see the blue flags aimed at you--in other words,
you can't see the blue flags aimed at other cars near you but they are very
likely there (perhaps viewing the reply through their eyes will confirm
this?).  A wise move on Papy's part since the little flag men can't actually
look at you and waive the flag right at you to distinguish you from the
others near to you.

Marc.

Yes, I've wondered the same. Hope there will be a patch solving this
problem.
They often ruined my Laptimes too.

I think many of the replies you got thought you were racing online.  From
the sound
of your second post, you are running offline.  Correct?   Anyhow, try to
keep a perspective
on this "game"  If you bring that attitude online, it won't be long before
word gets around
to avoid races with Alanrco in them.  You are gonna be cut off, you are
gonna get
balked, but thats half the strategy  of qualifying.  heading out at a time
that will give you
a hot lap.  Good luck and remember...have FUN!

GPL 'blue flag' rule.
You will not 'see' the blue flag if it is waved for the car/driver in front of
you. Only the driver who is being 'blue flagged'  see's the flag!  That makes
sure that you know its for you.
