I dont know.

Maybe I'm too easily pleased, but
I like the way you can do the oval
flat out, without any obstructions.

I tried it the other night.  Actually, I set it up for a friend who doesn't
know beans about F1 or sims.  He couldn't handle curves and chicanes well,
so I took him to Indy and set him on the oval.  Absolutely boring, even for
him (an oval-track guy).  No sensation of speed, no challenges, no fun.
But that's just our opinion...

I think it's cool that they made it possible, even if it is boring.  Now
if I could just figure out how to get on the old oval at Monza...

It's boring, but hey, it's just a gimmick, you're not -supposed- to
drive on the oval in the first place :)
What I don't agree with you is the lack of sensation of speed.. when I
drove the oval in F1 2001 I suddenly realized what was missing in N4.

I haven't tried it yet, but is it possible to set up the car with so
low downforce that it will be tricky to drive, and blindingly fast ?

There's nothing wrong with N4 apart from hotlapping is incredibly
boring. When racing, the sence of speed is definately there. :)

Hehe, I admit it, I tried experimenting with low (and no wing, a quick tap
of the pitwall and rear of pit garage soon removes them ;)) at Indy. The car
was slightly faster with the wing on lowest setting than no wings. Could
still take the turns flat though ;)

but how can i drive the full indy oval in F12001?

Simple. Don't turn at T1.

The whole oval's there. You can't race it, and you won't get times, etc. but
you can run it. You can even run it backwards (i.e. in the Indy Car
direction) if you want.
