LOL. I have practiced both test and race conditions. Afraid I ain't gettin much
better with the <fast> setup. I don't think we would see near the number of
problems with open setups (at least you could be stable with one's own driving
style) but that opens a whole new can of worms.

Not really.  It actually tends to be the opposite.  With the fixed setups,
you know what to expect.  With open, and no practicing, as the setup
changes, people are caught off-guard.

Typically with open setups you will see people setup for fast laps to try to
match the faster drivers.  Once they all get in a pack racing these setups
tend to become even looser and you see people sliding all over the place.
You also end up with people with different gearing and braking points which
has an impact on the closing rates and such.  This is not a blanket
statement on everyone, but it only takes 2 or 3 drivers running a setup that
is beyond their current abilities to cause numerous yellows.

With fixed setups, which are typically on the tight side, at least everyone
is in the same boat.

Personally I think that anyone should be able to run the fixed fast setup if
they have enough practice on a track.  This is a good way to learn the line
before working on a setup.

Correction - SOME people would have stable setups.  You forget, a lot of
drivers DON'T know anything about setups, or how to tweak to their advantage.

Even with fixed setups, you'll have different braking points...

Yes but not as extreme as when everyone has a custom setup.

Agree with the sentiment, but I feel you shouldn't be making this comment...
seeing as you continue to join while suffering from intermittent system
problems yourself.

"May he who is... " -etc.

If people don't want me to join the RASCAR races anymore then just let me
know and I'll drop out, sell the game on Ebay, and spend my time with
F12002.

I do feel the need though now to make a few key points. In 21 RASCAR races,
I've caused a total of about four yellows due to driving error. How many
others can say they've been as clean? Probably another four yellows due to
freezes. Even though I get the screen freezes in almost every race, I
usually just end up losing time or take the car off line, into the infield,
or into the wall and somehow out of harms way. I think I've only hit someone
twice during a freeze.

I've sat through God knows how many yellow laps, and have been hit/taken out
plenty of times, but I've never once complained or pointed fingers at
anyone. Like I said though, if you guys want me out of the races then that's
fine by me. The screen freezes are a problem, and Papyrus has been
absolutely no help whatsoever in helping me solve them.

I don't think anyone wants you to stop racing RASCAR DGF.  Youre a hard
clean racer, what more can anyone ask?  I enjoy racing you as im sure all
do.

Dave, I didn't say you should stop racing. I'd like for you to fix the
freezes and I'd be happy for you if you did, but I'm ok with you running in
the races.
