Did you ever tried to save the first RACE lap?

This is obviously very important to you as you have posted it three
times.
Therefore, please bear with me when I tell you that you CANNOT save your
'first' lap.  You CANNOT.

You CAN, however, save the first 'flying lap'.

Example:

1) Start race, pass start line (*not* necessarily the same as the finish
line) the data logger also starts.

2) pass finish line (which is usually *before* the start line) so
although you have passed the finish line for the first time on your
first lap you have not yet completed a *full* lap.

3) When you pass the finish line for the second time which is on your
second lap, you can save a lap cos the data logger now has enough info
(eg:- at least one whole lap) to carry out a save.
