N4-drop below line slowdown

Every now and then i take a very low line to pass, but if a wheel touches
the yellow or white line the car loses speed.....?

Is this to stop people keep crossing back and forth..........?

Whats happening is the apron has a different angle and your bottoming
out and scraping the under carage.

Tell that to the ai at Daytona and Dega. I have followed many ai at these
two tracks and watched them with half a car on the apron with NO speed loss.

Seems to me that unless the apron sloped away from the  track this
wouldn't happen.
