GT LEGENDS : order your copy now !

Hi,

Sorry about the title of this post, it is a trick to get attention from
Papyrus people :-)

Anyway, i think a game called GT LEGENDS would be great. It would be using
the same game engine and physical model as GPL, but applied to cars like the
Cobra or the GT 40, Ferrari's of this era, and so on...

To Papy's marketing people : the game would be relatively "cheap" to
develop, as the only need would be to design new tracks and new cars,
instead of developping a totally new game. In fact it would be a kind of
"add on", or "scenario disk", presented as a brand new game concept :-)
Don't hesitate ! Make the money you missed with GPL :-)

I sware i would buy such a game. And you, R.A.S people, would you do so ?
(this is a kind of a poll).

How about a dirt oval sim instead. How many people would like a Sprint car
sim with the other classes of cars included? It's just a matter of time
before someone cashes in on the idea. Lets hope it is Papyrus

I saw the '98 Coys(sp?) Historic Festival from Silverstone on Channel 5 a few
months back, and one of the races consisted of an entire grid of about 30
Ferrari's from GP and GT racing. It looked and sounded fantastic. I admit I
don't know anything about old Ferrari's, old anythings, but the 70's-era
sportscars were beautiful.

Oh, I don't know! Does anyone actually read these sig's anyway!?

I'll take one, too!

The Chaparells (sp?  Jim Hall?  the first cars with wings, weren't they?)  got
me interested in auto racing and  started me into several years of slot car
racing. I had a 1/24 Chap GT where the wing actually moved into a down position
when braking to provide greater downforce and then moved up again when
accelerating. There was a later model (or was it earlier? Damn, I haven't
thought about this in years! Thanks,Thierry!) that didn't have the wing but had
great lines, a beautiful car! Ferraris, the Lotus, the big Ford GT...GREAT cars!

If  Papy could get an "historic" LeMans license and include a 24 hour mode with
the ability to save a race in mid-24 hours, I'd be as happy as a pig in BBQ
sauce! PLEASE Papyrus, seriously consider an add-on disc/full "game" in this
mode.

Heck, make it a series based on the GPL engine. I'd like to see a current F1
simulator, too, but a GT Legends disc would simply blow my doors. I'm ready to
be behind the virtual wheel of the White Winged Wonder from the '60s. Who do I
make the cheque out to? I'll buy one for my brother, as well.

This might throw water on the subject but....
How many cars on average are there in a 60's
era GT race?  I'm guessing only but I'd be
willing to bet the fields would be larger than
those in Formula 1.  So we have the computer
hardware problem that is stopping the use of
the gpl physics in the next Nascar sim.  Too many
cars make too big a hit on  the cpu.
Running LeMans  with only 20 cars would be like
starting at Noon on Sunday.

Which still beats the heck out of not starting at all...  Give me a
big honkin' 7 litre Ford GT Mk IV...  220 down Mulsanne...  YE HAW!

I've no plans to. I only caught it on Channel 5 at 3:00am in the morning <G> I
don't have that much of an interest to be honest. The modern stuff gets me
going. Schuey in a Ferrari!

Rather than a sim based on Endurance Sport Car racing. How about the

Heh - it was great.  The 30s GP cars held their own surprisingly well
and actually were ahead of some of the 70s sportscars.  I'm hoping to
get to Coys again this year - I'd recommend it to any motorsport fan.
Don't know if there'll be any of the "real" GPL cars there this year.

GREAT idea!  I would love it...here's my idea for a whole 'series' of games
based on GPL.

CART 3 (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!)
Dirt-oval racing or World Of Outlaws
Other years of F1 (like maybe the turbo years)
SODA 2

All of these would need only new tracks & cars.  Maybe add in the ability to
interchange tracks easily...Sprint cars at the Glen, buggies at Monaco,
turbo-charged F1 cars at PIR (Copper World Classic)
