I don't know why it has just occurred to me, but there is no mention of
Ferrari in the handbook. Why is this ?
It is certainly the most stable car for us beginners and it must have the
finest engine sound ever !
I've owned this game for 2 years and still class myself as an utter novice.
To those doing 1.28's at Monza and under 9 mins at the 'Ring, hats off. That
is some achievement.

Papy didn't have the license to use the Ferrari name until after the manual
had been printed.

They didn't get the permission from Ferrari to include the car in the
program until after the handbook was printed.

Which Stephen Smith has pointed out to us, right here on this group -
and he'd know, afterall.

Personally I would consider the Cooper the easiest starting car, and not the
Ferrari...

Yes, the Cooper is the easiest car to start with.  I think in the book I
said it was the BRM (low polar moment) but I wuz wrong...like abt. a lot of
things (hey! I was working from the beta!).

Papy already had the Ferrari license when I wrote the book, but they had
right-of-approval for everything said about them, and there wasn't time to
vet the copy before the book went to press.  Too bad--I praised the car to
the skies in the ms.  All this is explained, BTW, somewhere over on Alison's
site, if it's still there.

And call me Steve, please.

No, way! the Eagle is by far the easiest. Smooth driveable engine,
responsive to the wheel, and fast enough to not be too discouraging :-)
