Actually they would have beaten us by more, but we had to discount their
score by 60% due to the exchange rate...

Congrats to our friends from the north.  Even though I was rooting hard
for the US team,  I can't say that I feel sad that they lost.  Even
though I absolutely love hockey (I share season tickets to the
Avalanche), I know how much more this means to the Canadian fans and the
players.  The pressure on the players to bring home the gold must have
been immense!  Plus, Joe Sakic is my all-time favorite player (what a
talent and a really nice guy) and it was cool to see him come through
with such a huge game. Joe now has two Stanley Cup rings, a Conn Smythe
award, a Hart trophy, a Lady Byng trophy, an Olympic gold medal, and an
Olympic MVP award.  Wow.

It's also a good thing that the Canadians didn't lose by one goal -
Mario Lemieux might have slit his wrists after clanking one off the post
with a wide open net!

Well done,

Dave Ewing

P.S. Go Avs.

No, that was taken from a  Bob and Doug Mackenzie routine. The ones who made
all this canuck lingo funy in the first place.

Rick Moranis played the Darth Vader -like character in Spaceballs,
that's why I was confused.  It's funny that he also did that in a
routine.

As far as them making it funny, I have to disagree.  It has always been
funny.  ;o)
