A couple questions about Burnout

by PHendrix » Fri, 12 Jun 1998 04:00:00

Hi, I decided to take a chance and get this game, even though I'm not into drag
racing all that much.  So, I have a couple questions, they may have been
answered before, but I'm new to Burnout so please bear with me.  First, is
there going to be a patch to fix the problem with not being able to do a
burnout before the race?  Second, can anyone tell me about any good Burnout
sites where I can get setups?  I'm more of a stockcar guy, and all the
different tweaks available in Burnout have me kinda stumped.

Thanks in advance

Pete

The new patch released today has greatly improved the burnout procedure!
Just make sure you engage the line-loc and then your two-step. Depending on
what car you are using, some will be easier than others. The dragster is
very
hard to get the wheels to hold as it would be in real life. Don't put your
rev's up
too high when you try doing your burnout keep feathering the throttle to
keep
the tires spinning. It takes some practice but you can now do them
properly.
As for sites with setups go to shra.com and check out the links from
there. Setups will have to be modified for the new patch as the physics
model
continues to get closer to reality and some of the things people were doing
to
get unreal times have been fixed.

There is a patch for Burnout to version 1.2.

For setups, info, etc., check out www.shra.com

Are there setups at the SHRA?  When you go to the Launchpad the text for
setups isn't a link.  Were the setups yanked because they didn't work with
the 1.2 patch?
