Yea, most people hate a driver that comes along and kicks their drivers
ass out of the #1 spotlight. You might as well get used to it, Dale
will never win a championship again.

Well, once again a DE fan lets their mouth get in the way of what little
brains they have. I have always been a Ford fan and am a Ernie Irvan fan
but I still like to see races when Earnhardt and Labonte and all the other
Chevy guys are running with the Fords, simply because it is more interesting. Heck I even like some Chevy drivers and I would even like Earnhardt BUT thanks to "fans" like Tom I really have trouble liking DE. Anyone who watched the
interview "objectively" with Ernie Irvan saw that he "did not take the
blame for the wreck" but he did give a rational excuse and no hid "did not"
blame the wreck on Sterling. He did say Sterling came down but he also
mentioned that Jarrett was on his bumper which caused him to slide up.
Guess some people missed that part of the interview. Anybody with a brain
can watch the replay and see that Ernie's car clearly went up the track and
into Marlin. But it takes someone with a brain that works to realize that
this type of stuff happens and when cars are cutting through the air at
190 even the smallest bobble can cause a 14 car pileup.
All I'm trying to say is this stuff happens all of the time and as long
as they run with restrictor plates it will continue to happen. Yes it was
partially Ernie's fault but it certainly wasn't intentional. I mean what
idiot would turn into another driver at the front of the field at Talladega
on purpose!? If people would get off of their high horse just because they
cheer for "The Champ" and let him drive like the great driver he is then
I'm sure several other people out there would admit respecting DE more than
they do today. Hell, when Darrel Waltrip hit Davey Allison at Pocono and
almost killed him I sure didn't see anyone griping at DW. As usual when a
popular driver causes a wreck it was"just one of those racing deals." Of
course when a popular driver is in a wreck caused by someone else then it
is obviously a lack of talent on the transgressor's part. Can't we all just
enjoy the races instead of pointing fingers?

Don't forget that Irvan got his nickname while he was in a Bowtie. It
doesn't matter what he drives. I like Irvan, but he did come up into
Marlin. That's it. Now lets drop it all and get back to racing.

Right On! Yes I am a fan of Dale Earnhardt! No I don't like Ernie Irvan!
No I don't like Jeff (Wonderboy) Gordon! Yes I like Rusty Wallace! (that
should stop the Chevy/Ford ideas) But as stated above, Ernie said the his
car was getting lose, Jarret was on and off the gas behind and that caused
him to get looser. When he tried to control the car, he did appear to
overcorrect his steering, causing him to drop onto the apron. (Who at this
point wouldn't have jerked the wheel a little?) At that point in the turn,
the cars have a natural tendency to drift up a little anyways. Maybe I'm
rambling.... Don't mean to!

After Bud at the Glen however, when Ernie stayed out after spraying trans
fluid onto the course (why didn't NASCAR black flag him anyways?) and
caused Rusty to slide into the tire barricade, I have dropped quite a bit
of respect for Ernie and his team.... I'm not trying to upset anyone, just
throwing in my 2 cents worth.... But hey! If Dales happy and content with
"Thats just racing" then so am I!
