Any chance of convincing Ford not to sell all the historical cars it owns
to private collectors and to set up a museum instead?

Ford takes it's past to market (Peter Robinson)

Sorry Ford, but no-one is going to take your forthcoming centenary
celebrations seriously.
Not if you go ahead with the June 16th auction of 51 prototypes and concept
cars. Mostly from Ghia's collection, but also including many recent
Dearborn concepts, the list includes hugel influential designs like the
Ghia Focus, various Probes, Lagonda Vignale and Ian Callum's Ghia Via AC.
Ford presents the sale as a positive move, as if the only alternative to
selling the cars - the proceeds go to charity - is the scrapheap and not a
Ford museum. At least here we could enjoy the work of some of the worlds
best cars in perpetuity.
/end

He goes on a bit more, but the upshot is that they're going to sell these
cars to collectors, who'll coat them in wax and hide them in a private
collection, never to be seen again.
