The only post I saw about a demo was for the PSX that came out in some mag.

I gather TOCA2 will be out early next year for the PC. The Platstation version came out on Friday
in the UK. I couldn't wait so I bought that to have a whirl. In short:
Physics - much improved - independant modelling of all 4 wheels on the track etc
AI - with a dual shock controller it was hard to get up with the AI cars, but they do seem a lot
smarter and they don't roll over and die when you pass them - seem less aggressive now and they
can have as much difficulty staying on the track in a collision as you do. The back markers let
you pass too.
Graphics - well PSX graphics are a major downer if you've been used to a PC with dual Voodoo2 in
SLI mode. 512 x whatever at 24 fps is the best you can get from PSX. Still you can see through
this how good the final version will be - I cracked my windshield in a very relistic way. Lots of
other nice features too.
Sound - nice. I particularly like the pit crew telling me stuff - "the pit window is open",
"Rydell has just come into the pits", "That looked bad, you alright, mate?", "Move over there's a
car trying to lap you" etc
Gameplay - 3 different championships Novice, Intermediate and Hard - Tiff is still there and just
as rude about your driving
Cars - lots of support cars Formula Fords, Escorts etc
Tracks - a whole load more plus extended tracks. They've got the one they had wrong before right
eg Silverstone's bends before Bridge and Brand's hill on Clearways is there too.
There's an interview with Gavin on http://www.racesimcentral.net/
Seems very good. Unless you're an *** like me, I'd be inclined to wait for the PC because
television is no place for proper graphics and PSX, along with all with all it's other ***
features, doesn't support Internet play which apparently is much improved for TOCA2,
Paul

The game is a lot of fun... the driving model is still ***but a step into
the right direction.
I like the fact that the game seems to be quite big, with bonus races of
lemans cars like
lister storms which are more fun than the old toca 2liter crapboxes...
it has many many nice touches...
Agreed that the good old PS doesn't cut the graphics mustard anymore, BUT
toca
IS a step back from say GT which is a year old now....

I must, however, absolutely dispute the television comment below!!!! Tellys
are BIG
they have subwoofers to kick you in the nads. in front of the tv are one ore
more beanbags...
you lay down and get fast... on pc's you sit like a grandpa klikin' dumb
keys or if you have a steering wheel
strapped to your desk you look like a ***wit everytime some non*** mates
are around.
and to put the whole argument to bed Ill be playing rally2 on my dc in jan
(hopefully) and that
little box of joy just kicks the bollox of any pc (graphicswise), plus
everything runs 60fps mostly anyway....
anyway get toca 2 on voodoo2 not PS and only if youre a racemoron who has to
have anything to do with
overtaking polygons.

have fun.

it's other ***

Huh.  My PC also has a 21" monitor and a subwooferto "kick me in the nads",
as though that were something I would pursue...

You also presume that people plopped on "one ore more" beanbags don't look
stupid, I tend to disagree...

And I don't know about everyone else, but I remove my MSFF wheel from my
keyboard tray when I am done racing.

BTW, I'm monogamous, I only have one mate.
