Nascar / season.bin

Does anyone out there know if there's a way to edit the season.bin file
in Nascar?

After winning a race today, I hit the esc key and my system rebooted
itself.  When I got back into the game and checked the standings it
listed me as last and said I'd been DQ'd.  Now I have no choice but to
restart the season or just live with getting 0 points for a race I
rightfully won (5th to 12th in points-ouch!)

I tried editing the file with several hex/bin editors but it was
indecipherable computer junk.  Is there any way I can get rid of the
record of the last race?  I was over half way through a 50% race length
season, and I cringe at losing it all now.  Thanks in advance.
