NFS3: The Problem Is The Tracks

I own NFSSE, NFS2SE and NFS3. I enjoyed the first  two immensly, but I
have found it hard to get into NFS3 as the tracks are more designed with the
pursuit mode in mind. The are too straight, although they do circuit around.
It takes the thrills of racing away when all you can do is drag off your
competitors rather than out break them into corners etc.

Also I've found that, when I do the tournament mode there is an annoying
amount of night races. Although the SFX are good, it really sux when you are
kaning through the desert and all of a sudden a rock face appears from the
darkness right infront of you!!!

By the way, here in NZ we get the Australasian version of the game,
which "exclusively" includes the HSV Clubsport GTS and the Ford Falcon GT.
Do any other regional versions have exclusive cars?

Serious?  I thought there was a huge lack of straights on the tracks.  I haven't
found anywhere to go full speed yet.

I agree with you on the tourney though, I get rain, weather, mirrored and
reverse 9/10 times.

I agree there are only 2-3 good tracks in the game. But then again,
even that's more than the truly horrendous tracks in NFS2! (No where
near as good as the NFS1 tracks of course).

I though the tracks were ok.  I did need to use the "gofast" cheat to get full
top speed from the cars, though.  As for the Assuie cars and other hacks, check
out http://www.lantanet.cz/jakubs/nfs3/.

I found the tracks too bendy - one wrong corner and you get stuck and
arrested :(

The manual explicits says that the Expert Tournament mode has one or more
of the track variables on, determined at random.

I think there's a Wal Mart special with an Indy 500 pace car (A Covertte
with a nice "skin")

BTW the HSV drives better on automatic - limp 5th gear :(

I guess you New Zealanders know that in the USA the name "Ford Falcon"
hasn't been used since the 60's?

It was a fairly plain looking car, with round taillights (I think).  Maybe
somebody has a pic?
