Yes, it does.

Hello,

Actually, the exact number of official reports that we have received
of the Performance Pedals breaking is 2...Two...yep...just two. Other
people have reported hearing a sound which sounds like a crack.
However, that sound is simply the ball holder shifting under heavy
pressure.  Nothing actually breaks.  :)   These things have a tendency
to get out of hand, you know.

In case you are interested, we have shipped THOUSANDS of units and
only had 2 confirmed reports.  We calculated the RMA return for this
product to be LESS than 0.05%.  For those who are mathematically
challenged, that means that we get less than 1 reported "failure" for
every 2000 units that we ship.  We obviously do a LOT of stress
testing with our units and still have yet to be able to produce any
failure.  In fact, the only way we could get any of the pedals to
break is to literally JUMP on it.  FYI, I weigh 192 pounds and
couldn't break it easily.  I had to jump on several times to get it to
crack. To further the point, I work out regularly and squat 315, leg
press 630, and calf raises with 345.  I play with these pedals daily
and have not have any failure with my set at home or at work.  From
what we have researched, the failure is a result of people pressing
the pedals BEYOND their intended range.  Obviously, any device would
break under those circumstances.

As for games that support multiple input devices, you will see more
and more of this.  We speak to game developers regularly and are
getting feedback from all the major ones that multiple input
controllers will be featured in ALL their future titles.

The 1.5 patch for Nascar Heat added multiple controller support, as does the
latest Viper Racing patch.  Of course the official Infogrames Nascar heat
page only links to the old 1.1 patch, but I guess five months of us
requesting them to update the link was insufficient.  It looks like if you
go to the main infogrames site and choose support-->patches you can find the
1.5 patch.

Sorry to imply there was a problems, just stating what I read.

However in one sentence you say you jumped on them and they didn't break but
then you go on to say some are breaking/cracking by pressing beyond their
range.  I would suspect if people broke even one with more use by pressing
beyond the range then there is no way you jumped on them and they didn't
break.

ACT LAB question

by Jim Burl » Mon, 19 Nov 2001 02:00:50

Hi Dave, I have the same (lwff vs lwffgp though)
Any luck using the wheel, pedals and shifter in N4? All is fine until
I plug in the shifter, then it won't recognize the gas or clutch on
the Act pedals.

GPL on the other hand... perfect.

Thanks!

Jim
