1NSANE questions...

by Jeff Vince » Sun, 25 Mar 2001 13:56:03

I've played the demo, it's fun.  I can't get my joysticks to work
with the demo, though.  Is that normal?  Will they work with the full
version?

I've played the demo online.  It's fun, too.  But where is
everyone?  I don't think I've seen over ten people (combined rooms) on
the Codemasters 1NSANE server.  Are there other places to play with
more people?

In playing the demo online, it seems like there are an awful lot of
server errors (people can't join games, game play is erratic, etc. --
more than just warp)  Is it any better with the full version?

Thanks for answers or any other comments you care to share.

Hi Jeff
Yes full Insane version works with all wheels , theres also a patch to
correct minor problems and by now 3 additional cars are available.
The demo is maybe 15% of what you get from full version
On any night ( europe time ) you have maybe 40 to 60 drivers connected via
cmn

The full US version includes an applied patch which supposedly solves many
of the controller config issues.  One thing you need to do is make sure you
have your controller set to 2 axis.

I have only had the chance to play the full version online once (and got my
*ss handed to me).  There weren't too many people online then, maybe 25.  I
think it depends on if and when the game catches on.  Not everyone who buys
a game cares about internet multiplayer, either.

I didn't have too much trouble, but I have a cable modem, so that may have
helped the issue.

I love this game.  Hope to see you online at CMN

1NSANE has the worst controller system of any game ever made.

After not getting it to work for 2 days, it just 'worked' one day.

I have no idea why.

It don't fix squat.

I even have the MSFFW that's listed on the box, and it was a nightmare and
stroke of luck to get it working.

1nsane (US retail version) works for me with my gameport MSFF and the 3.02
Sidewinder software in WinME.  The fact that it works perfectly means that
either:

a)  it doesn't need fixing

~or~

b)  the applied patch fixed it
